And the winner..Carly the Cow!
On Monday we voted to determine the final proposal for our milk carton sculpture/installation. The results were close between two different ideas but in the end, Carly was the winner. Carly was created by a junior class student who was inspired by the work of artist Alexis Rockman (work pictured below)
Over the course of the next week we will be creating a model of the piece and students will assist me in determining the amount of cartons needed and size.

Self Portraits Inspired by Vik Muniz
Students began a portrait project this past Monday. Each was required to take a selfie to use for the project. We spent Monday going over features, shadows for shading and outlining in sharpie. Once done outlining we worked on transferring the image onto our final paper using a graphite transfer. Once shadows are added, students will be using trash they have collected over the course of last week, as their main material for covering their portrait. I can’t wait to see the results!
